A quiet stretch of Rock Fork Road in eastern Kentucky became the center of shock and sorrow Wednesday afternoon when 41-year-old William Loren Manning was found deceased near the Fleming County line. The discovery was made just after noon by a passing driver who noticed Manning lying off the rural roadside — an area known more for gravel paths and tree-lined calm than tragedy.

Authorities say there were no immediate signs of trauma, no visible gunshot wounds, and no obvious indication of a struggle. The call was placed to Morehead 911, and emergency crews responded swiftly. By 1 p.m., Manning was officially pronounced dead at the scene.
