Queensbury, New York — The Queensbury Union Free School District is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Marc Biddiscombe, a deeply respected Queensbury High School teacher whose unexpected passing has left a profound void in the hearts of students, colleagues, and the wider community. A dedicated educator for more than two decades, Biddiscombe devoted his life to teaching U.S. history and economics, shaping generations of students through knowledge, mentorship, and genuine care.
Marc Biddiscombe joined Queensbury High School in 2000 and quickly became a cornerstone of the academic community. Known for his engaging teaching style, he had a rare ability to make complex historical and economic concepts feel relevant, accessible, and meaningful. Students often spoke of his classroom as a place where curiosity was encouraged and voices were heard, and where learning extended far beyond textbooks.
Superintendent Kyle Gannon expressed deep sorrow following the news of Biddiscombe’s passing, describing him as an educator who built strong, lasting relationships with both students and staff. Principal Andrew Snide echoed those sentiments, noting that Marc consistently brought real-world perspective into his lessons and took a personal interest in each student’s success. His influence reached far beyond academic achievement, helping students grow in confidence, critical thinking, and character.
