SHREVEPORT, La. — The Shreveport community is reeling from the sudden and tragic loss of 33-year-old Tremaine Jones, who died in a rollover crash early Friday morning, January 30, 2026. According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the fatal single-vehicle accident occurred around 2:29 a.m. on Interstate 20 West at the Lakeshore Drive and Linwood Avenue (Exit 17A) off-ramp.
Authorities reported that Tremaine was driving a light blue Chevy Blazer home from a local casino when icy conditions on the ramp caused him to lose control. The vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and violently struck a large concrete bridge column. Shreveport Police and Fire Department crews responded immediately. Firefighters used the jaws of life to free Tremaine from the wreckage, but despite their heroic efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was confirmed through personal identification, and standard toxicology testing was ordered.
This devastating crash is the fourth fatal traffic accident in Shreveport in 2026, underscoring the dangers posed by winter road conditions and the fragile nature of life on icy highways. Tremaine’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the wider community in profound grief.
