Suffolk, Virginia – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Erin Elizabeth Morrissey, who left us on January 20, 2026, at the age of 34. Born on July 31, 1991, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Erin’s life was one marked by dedication, love for her community, and a tireless spirit of service. She grew up in Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey, where she forged lasting memories with friends and family, and graduated from Matawan High School in 2009.

Erin’s early life was shaped by her commitment to excellence and service. That same year, she achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor bestowed by the organization, in recognition of her exceptional leadership and dedication to making a positive impact. Following her graduation, Erin continued to serve her community by joining the Naval Reserves, where she contributed to national defense with a deep sense of pride and discipline.

Erin was known for her unwavering optimism, her ability to inspire others, and her boundless compassion. Her family, friends, and colleagues remember her not only as a dedicated servicewoman but as someone whose smile could light up a room and whose heart was as big as her ambition.

Erin leaves behind a legacy of service, strength, and kindness, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn her passing, we remember her life as a shining example of living with purpose and compassion.
