Stabbing Incident Rocks Billings Senior High: Student Allegedly Attacks Teacher, Social Media Buzzes with Rumors

A shocking incident at Billings Senior High School has left the community in disbelief after an 18-year-old student, identified on social media as Kaylie Wirkman Lear, allegedly stabbed her math teacher, Jason Rader, before turning the knife on herself. The incident occurred on January 13, 2026, around 4:23 p.m., just as the school day had ended but while extracurricular activities like a concert and wrestling meet were taking place.

Witnesses reported seeing Rader, covered in blood, fleeing his classroom and running into a hallway filled with students as staff quickly dialed 911. Both Rader and the student were rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and have since been treated and released. Superintendent Erwin Garcia confirmed that the wounds were not fatal, but the shocking event has left the community rattled.
