Fatal Crash in Yuma Claims the Life of 34-Year-Old Abraham Corral

A devastating crash late Saturday night on South Avenue B in Yuma has left the community mourning the loss of 34-year-old Abraham Corral. Just after 9:24 p.m., Corral, riding his 2014 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, slammed into the rear of a Honda CR-V near West County 14th Street. The impact was so intense that it threw him from the bike and onto the pavement.

Deputies investigating the scene believe speed may have played a role in the fatal accident, although details surrounding the final moments before the crash remain unclear. Witnesses have not confirmed if the Honda’s brake lights were on or whether Corral had time to react, but the severity of the collision was undeniable. Emergency responders from Rural Metro Fire arrived to find the situation grave, with both drivers needing immediate medical attention.

The driver of the Honda was treated for minor injuries and rushed to Onvida Health, while Corral was also transported. Despite the heroic efforts of doctors and paramedics, his injuries were too severe, and he passed away at the hospital.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office is now left with unanswered questions, searching for any clue that could explain what led to this heartbreaking accident. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward, as even the smallest detail could provide crucial insight into what happened in those final, fateful seconds.
