The Gilroy community is rallying around 7-year-old twins after the heartbreaking death of their parents, Andrew and Stacia Stuart, who were fatally struck by a teenage driver while crossing a street near Las Animas Elementary School on January 16, 2026. The tragic incident has left the young children without their loving parents, sparking an outpouring of support from friends, family, and the local community.

The accident occurred around 9 a.m. as the couple was walking to their car after dropping off their children—one at Las Animas Elementary and the other at Rod Kelley Elementary. According to authorities, the couple was struck by a vehicle driven by a teenage driver at the intersection of Charles Lux Drive and Lopez Way. Despite life-saving efforts, Andrew Stuart was pronounced dead at the scene, while Stacia was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Tragically, Stacia succumbed to her injuries days later, leaving the twins to face an unimaginable loss.
