In Loving Memory of Lisa M. Caporizzo: A Life Devoted to Love, Rescue, and Service


It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa M. Caporizzo, who left us on January 14, 2026, at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with illness. Lisaโ€™s life was one of boundless love, dedication, and selflessness, as she devoted herself to the people and animals she cared for with unparalleled strength and grace.

Lisaโ€™s journey began on August 8, 1968, and she quickly became known for her vibrant spirit, her immense heart, and her unyielding passion for rescue work. Lisa was a beacon of hope for countless pets, always striving to make the world a better place for those in need. She worked tirelessly with Pet Connection, and her influence was felt by many. Whether it was rescuing senior or hospice dogs, organizing adoption events, or caring for the pets she brought into her home, Lisa’s love for animals knew no bounds. Her heart was always open to giving them a better life, no matter how long it lasted.

Her life was also filled with love for her family. Her partner, who she shared 29 beautiful years with, described their bond as one of perfect harmony. Together, they made every day better, building a life filled with kindness, dedication, and love. Lisaโ€™s strength was legendary, and she faced her illness with the same resilience that she showed every day of her life.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Emily Satterlee, her siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. She was predeceased by her father and two sisters. Lisaโ€™s legacy will live on in the lives of the animals she rescued, the people she touched, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

A celebration of Lisaโ€™s life will be held in the spring, and in her memory, donations can be made to Pet Connection or your favorite animal shelter.
