Tragic Death in Houston: Sherry Dawson Killed in $125K Drug Deal Gone Wrong

Houston, TX – The city is reeling after Sherry Dawson, a 45-year-old woman, was tragically shot dead at a local storage facility during a botched drug deal that turned deadly. Dawson, who was the wife of Matthew Jasso, a man allegedly involved in a scheme to rip off a Detroit cocaine buyer, Kip Stitts, was caught in the crossfire when the deal went horribly wrong.

According to investigators, the deadly encounter unfolded when Jasso attempted to steal $125,000 worth of cocaine from Stitts. The drugs, however, failed to materialize, and the situation quickly escalated. In a fit of rage, Stitts reportedly shot and killed Dawson, who was the middleman in the transaction, after she became an unfortunate target in the dispute.

Authorities say that Matthew Jasso—who had orchestrated the illegal deal with Stitts—was not present at the scene when the shooting occurred. The tragic killing of his wife, however, has sparked outrage and disbelief as the violence escalated over a failed drug deal. Jasso’s role in the crime has led to his arrest, and he now faces charges in connection with the murder.

The Houston community, and especially Dawson’s family, is struggling to understand how a seemingly simple business arrangement could have turned into a life-shattering tragedy. Sherry Dawson, a mother, wife, and daughter, is remembered by friends and loved ones as a warm and caring person who had no involvement in the dangerous world of drugs that ultimately cost her life.

As authorities continue to investigate the case, Dawson’s death serves as a tragic reminder of the often deadly consequences of the illegal drug trade.
